The D3100 is Nikon's exceptional entry level DSLR.
The Nikon D3100 new design brings a lightweight, compact camera that allows an easy and fast single hand operation. The camera uses a 14.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor and a new EXPEED II image processor. The New design includes also an updated menus and an intuitive onboard learn-as-you grow guide mode. The beginner can use the helpful tips to achieve better results in challenging shooting conditions.
The EXPEED II, Nikon's processing engine allows a maximum rate of 3 frames per second using 11-point autofocus. The quality of the pictures is outstanding in all parameters including color, contrast and noise. The ISO sensitivity allows talking pictures at near darkness conditions. It ranges from 100 to 3200 and up to 12800 at Hi (II) mode.
Videos are recorded in Full HD 1080p at 24FPS. with sound and full-time autofocus. The system offers In-Camera clip trimming so a computer based program is not needed. To activate video recording mode, the D3100 provides a Live View switch with a dedicated video record button. The result can be played the 3" newly designed display screen.
The Nikon D3100 will accept SD/SDHC & SDXC Memory sticks, and it comes with a standard startup battery.
